The inspiration
Rain & Redwoods
Rain and Redwoods symbolizes a journey of self-discovery, living in the present, and shedding inhibitions. It's crucial to reclaim control of our own lives and savor the creative process
free from insecurities.
I grappled with fear, self-doubt, and insecurity when I was younger. It was my father who imparted the invaluable lesson of letting go, repeating the mantra of 'who cares.' He encouraged me to feel my emotions, to scream, dance impulsively, and sing loudly,
indifferent to the opinions of others.
Years later, I find myself revisiting this lesson repeatedly. Liberation lies in breaking free from societal norms and preconceived notions of what we ought to be. Instead, we should embrace learning, exploration, creativity, and the richness of our emotions. So, pull the car over, dance in the rain, scream from mountaintops, and rediscover yourself. It's time to break free and
revel in the passion and excitement that life has to offer.
The artist
Katherine Bergin | Based in Northern California
I see art as a portal to self-discovery and an exploration of the world around us. My truest moments of happiness and harmony unfold when I'm immersed in the act of making—whether it's macrame, wood burning, collaging, cooking, or even haircutting.
There are no ends—only continuous beginnings.
My journey forms a vibrant tapestry of diverse experiences each interwoven that I get to explore in my day-to-day life. I am Katherine Bergin—an artist, a daughter, a cosmetologist, and a perpetual student. Each day brings new lessons, and I invite you to join me on this ever-evolving adventure.
